The West Ocala Historic District” aka The WOHD (pronounced like ‘the wood’) was a collaborative effort with the city of Ocala to clean up the blight in the community, clean and clear vacant lots and to raise awareness to the Historic accomplishments of the residents in that community. The WOHD was the economic, professional, and cultural center of the African American community in Ocala, Florida.
